Safety First. Always.

“There are old pilots and bold pilots but no old, bold pilots.”

Corvus maintains a comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS) that provides the framework for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risk across all operations.

Our SMS is not a compliance checkbox it is an integrated operational approach that influences how we plan, execute, and evaluate every mission. Safety considerations are embedded at every level of decision-making.

The system enables consistent, objective risk evaluation while preserving the operational flexibility required for diverse mission profiles. When conditions warrant, we modify or cancel operations without hesitation.

Safety is not a priority that can be balanced against other concerns. It is the foundation upon which all Corvus operations are built.

Compliance Elevated

Corvus partners with P5 Aviation Safety (Which is directly integrated with our companies operating software modernhawk) to manage and strengthen our Safety Management System (SMS). Through this relationship, we maintain structured risk assessment, operational oversight, and alignment with current aviation safety standards.

P5 provides independent consulting and safety guidance to ensure our SMS remains proactive, disciplined, and continuously improving. This partnership reinforces our commitment to risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and mission execution at the highest level of operational safety.

Safety Starts Here

At Corvus, safety isn’t a policy — it’s a responsibility. We service, inspect, and maintain 100% of our own aircraft in-house, ensuring every mission begins with equipment we trust with our lives.

Our maintenance program is built around precision, accountability, and strict adherence to FAA standards. From routine inspections to component-level repairs, nothing leaves the hangar without meeting our internal safety benchmarks — which often exceed regulatory requirements.

With over 30 dedicated team members and 14 licensed A&P aircraft mechanics, our aircraft are maintained by professionals who understand the demands of low-level flight, external load operations, and mission-critical reliability.

SMS Core Components

Four pillars of our risk management approach

01

Mission Risk Assessment

Every mission undergoes structured risk evaluation before execution. We identify hazards, assess their potential impact, and implement appropriate mitigations.

02

Pre-Flight Scoring

Quantitative scoring ensures objective evaluation of mission conditions including weather, terrain, equipment status, and crew readiness.

03

Risk Thresholds

Defined risk thresholds establish clear go/no-go criteria. These thresholds are not negotiable regardless of operational or commercial pressures.

04

Mission Modification

When conditions exceed acceptable risk levels, missions are modified or postponed. We do not accept unnecessary risk for schedule compliance.
